“Capture to Print” with Arthur Carron FIPF
Hosted by Dungannon Cookstown Camera Club (DCCC)
Dungannon Cookstown Camera Club had the pleasure of welcoming Arthur Carron FIPF, a distinguished photographer and member of Dundalk Photographic Society, for a truly inspiring evening entitled “Capture to Print.”
Arthur delivered an insightful and engaging presentation that took us through the full photographic process — from shooting with intent to producing a finished print that communicates the essence of an image. His passion for photography and printmaking was evident from the outset, and he generously shared the techniques, considerations, and personal approaches that guide his workflow.
Covering everything from camera settings, post-processing, and colour management to paper choice and presentation, Arthur demystified the often-overlooked print stage with clarity and enthusiasm. His talk was rich with practical tips and real-world examples, and his beautifully crafted prints were a testament to the care and artistry he brings to his work.
For many in attendance, the talk was both eye-opening and motivating — a reminder of the value and satisfaction in seeing our images come to life on paper. Arthur’s emphasis on storytelling and intentionality resonated with everyone in the room.
A huge thank you to Arthur for a fantastic presentation and for sharing his expertise so generously. It was a privilege to learn from someone with such a deep understanding of the photographic craft. We hope to welcome him back to DCCC again in the near future!
